FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you’ve never visited a professional Massage Therapist before, you’re bound to have lots of questions or concerns. Below, you’ll find a list of several frequently asked questions from my clients. Connect with me today for more information.

WHAT STYLE OF MASSAGE DO YOU PRACTICE?

My work is firmly grounded in Neuromuscular Therapy which I typically combine with mobilization and stretching techniques. Each session is unique and tailored to the specific needs of the client.

CANCELLATION, NO SHOW AND LATE ARRIVAL POLICY.

  • If you need to make a change to your appointment, kindly give 24 hours notice so that we may offer your appointment time to someone else. 

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full amount of the appointment if we are unable to fill the opening. 

  • Appointments cancelled with more than 24 hours notice will not be charged a cancellation fee. The fee will also be waived if we are able to fill the opening left by a late cancellation.  

  • Missed appointments will be charged the full amount of the scheduled appointment.

  • In fairness to other clients, the length of the appointment will not be adjusted for clients arriving late. The session will end at the time originally scheduled.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST VISIT?

Your first visit to my office begins with filling out a brief, confidential health survey. We will then discuss your particular needs relating to massage and agree on a treatment plan that is appropriate for you. Next, you will be given complete privacy to disrobe to your level of comfort (see FAQ What should I wear during my massage treatment?). Once you are comfortable on the table and covered by the sheet, you will be able to press a call button to let me know that you are ready. Remember that during the massage treatment, you are in charge of the level of pressure. Please communicate if you are uncomfortable with any part of your treatment because there are usually other modality options available. Also let me know if you feel too cold or too warm. The table is heated and can be easily adjusted for your comfort. At the end of your session, I will take time to review my observations along with any recommendations I might have. Generally speaking, your first visit will involve more assessment and evaluation than subsequent sessions. This allows me to develop an individual plan to guide the focus of my therapy.

Payment is due at the time of service.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR DURING MY MASSAGE TREATMENT?

Simply stated, Illinois law requires that clients not be exposed any more than what would be legal on an Evanston public beach. Let your comfort be your guide. Some individuals prefer to wear loose-fitting clothing, some wear only underwear and others prefer to be nude under the sheet. In all cases, clients are covered with a sheet during the treatment session. The only area uncovered is that which is being worked on. Rest assured that your comfort is my goal. On occasion, I might make suggestions about what would work best with the modalities that I plan to use. Remember that you always have the final say as to what feels right for you.

WILL INSURANCE COVER MY TREATMENTS?

Check with your insurance company regarding coverage. Although I do not submit claims on client's behalf, I am happy to provide you with receipts, and/or documentation to support the treatment related to your claim.

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE OR CONVENIENT PUBLIC TRANSIT?

  • 2-hour free steet parking available

  • Located ½ block west of the Foster St. "L" stop in Evanston.

  • Metra Station is four blocks south at Davis St.

DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?

Gift certificates are not available for purchase at this time.
